From 6th April 2026, the introduction of Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax represents a significant shift in the way Self employed businesses & Landlords manage their tax obligations in the UK. This reform, aimed at simplifying the tax process and improving efficiency, will require businesses to maintain digital records and submit their income tax returns online. .
This massive change will impact sole traders & landlords with income exceeding £50,000. Those with income above £30,000 will be mandated from April 2027. And, those earning above £20,000 will be mandated from April 2028.
